I passed the 35,000-word mark en route to that magical 50,000 words for the month of November. Of course, the trick is to actually have those words read like a complete novel. The action in my book The Chanteuse is picking up, but I may need to exceed the 50,000 mark to finish the story.
I was not able to get an excerpt posted from today’s writing, but I will try to do so tomorrow. The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. I am remembering now why I don’t always work at the pace called for by NaNoWriMo. I thought it was because I was slacking before. The truth is I’m old and tired.
Thankfully, The Colonel, the Lost Crusader, and Adam Rants have been filling in for me on the blog. I’m hoping soon to recruit a new writer to join the group.
I am still eagerly awaiting word on when Yuletime Chillers; Festive Phantoms and Creepy Carousers will be released. It’s an anthology by Tiwaz Press that includes five of my stories. I am especially fond of my story entitled, The Wallet and am hoping it is well received by readers. I think I put a lot of myself into it…at least it felt that way when I was doing it.
There’s also a story featuring Sasquatch…a first for me and a story I heard around the campfire on my last camping trip. Hope to announce its arrival soon.
