Know Jack #107

Actions speak louder than words, you’ve heard it before. You have probably said it a time or two, I know have. When one is looking at the immediate future or even over the course of a single lifetime, it may even be true. However, if you are looking beyond that words are the real lasting legacy of life.

There comes a point in the legend of every action when words are all that remain. It is the story, told with words, that brings us into the presence of the heroes and villains of the past. The advent and proliferation of camera phones may undo this for the future, but Shakespeare, Dante, Homer, and the like will still only live through words.

Therefore it is important that the words we speak and the actions we take in life are congruent…that is they match up. We may not have our life video recorded and the words we write and the words we profess to believe will endure beyond our life if we choose them well.

Speaking of words, I was made aware of the hoops one must jump through to leave a comment on my website…as you might imagine, it’s not something I normally do. This won’t do. I am currently in the process of building a new site that I hope will be easier to use and navigate for you and me. I will be keeping the same URL/address, just adopting a new look.

I will tell you now, that I am going to cave to the trend of asking for your email and establishing a mailing list (it’s the most effective for me to do business). I will make it as painless, as possible, not flood your inbox (I know you’ve heard that before, this time it’s true. I don’t have the time to do it), and giveaway real stuff to those who brave the signup.

I don’t have a release date yet for Yuletide Chillers: Festive Phantoms and Creepy Carousers. When I get that, I will give away a few copies so stay tuned.
